houston meditation
The largest city in the Lone Star State, Houston, TX is the fourth largest city in the United States immediately after the entire city of New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. But while cities have a distinct impression in the minds of people around the world, Houston is still being discovered by people every day. Located at just upstream from the Gulf of Mexico is a major port for markets across the world. Situated in the oil-rich state of Texas is the headquarters of many of multinational energy more important. Unique, vibrant, diverse and thriving, Houston, TX is emerging as a major world of the United States next class city. Houston One interesting distinction is that unlike most cities in the U.S. no zoning ordinances. The result is that every neighborhood is a mosaic of businesses, homes, churches and other places of worship, schools, parks and manufacturing. Some areas have managed to maintain a more traditional design, but in the entire city that is not found anywhere else with the kind of orderly chaos offered in Houston. Part of this organic chaos is a pretty nasty traffic and as Los Angeles (and unlike the older, eastern metropolis of New York and Chicago) a car is more or less a must have here. As it crosses the city will have to keep your eyes open, great treasures are often mixed with the environment rather prosaic. Houston, TX, like many large cities has a well developed of Fine Arts community. Its downtown district actually has the largest concentration of theaters and dramatic representation anywhere in the United States outside of Broadway. Touring companies from all major musical about the city-often in the first runs with the original cast, and a number of world premieres here in Space City. Also of interest is the Rothko Chapel. Mark Rothko was one of the most notable and influential artists of the 20th century. His experiments with color and composition have been held by critics and art historians since 1970, even before his suicide. Just before he killed himself in the midst of a terrible depression, Rothko completed a project in which he designed a non-denominational space for meditation in Houston and decorated with original paintings. The space is considered a great work of art itself and is open to the public where you can see the dark works created by this artist deeply significant. The city also boasts an incredible renowned opera and ballet world, among a number of other galleries and museums. As for the most popular art forms, Houston has emerged as one of the central scenes of the hip in the global movement hops. Rap artists in the city have created a unique sound now emulated by the rappers and DJs everywhere. No musical innovation is more characteristic of the H-Town sound "chopped and screwed" tracks "slowed down and the echo, the sound was developed by the legendary DJ Screw to emulate the effects of cough syrup prescription popularly abused from the set (and responsible for the deaths of many-not least of which was Screw). Houston, TX is a place where art, music, architecture and commerce gather from all over the world to create a complex human quilt as anywhere else. Whether traveling or trying to move, Houston is a place where you will fit.
